Encoded Threads is the first body of work by Laura Renée Maier to explore the extension of textile processes into blockchain technology. The material and digital forms are dually tethered using cryptographic proofs, stitched into the physical and on-chain canvas. Tied with occult and folkloric imagery, this enmeshment provides space to craft new language and mythology for the emerging subject.

This series dives into new technologies built upon the archaic structures and storylines that are integral to our collective history and consciousness.
